Last season, the Marines led the intramural softball league for most of the regular season before losing in the playoffs to CASCOM.

Prior to playoffs, CASCOM had crept up on the Corps and came out on top of the standings in the last two weeks.

This year’s group of Marines are only a short way off from unseating No. 1 CASCOM, and certainly have the talent on the roster to do so. Having won their last six games, momentum is certainly in their favor.

Fresh off a long weekend break, CASCOM continues this week to lead the way, posting five straight wins – most recently, a pair against MEPS, 10-3, 11-10.

The Marines handed Kenner two losses at Nowak Stadium May 24 (12-4, 24-0), after taking MEPS down a notch the previous day (9-3, 17-16).

PMO had won their last four games before the 111th put the breaks on their streak with a 9-7 win Tuesday. PMO would retaliate with a huge 19-4 win.

PMO capped off the previous week with a pair of wins over 240th (11-9, 18-5).

The 530th team is doing well, posting six straight wins to tie for second place with the Marine Corps team. The 530th earned a pair of wins over 54th in a low-scoring battle at Nowak Stadium (6-1, 8-6).

The 262nd split a doubleheader with 506th, May 23, winning the opener, 19-5, and losing the finale, 13-5.
