Duties: “I provide customer service and public relations support to staff around the agency. I am an advisor who provides public affairs guidance and recommendations on how to better market and tell the agency’s contracting mission story so that our audiences, including customers, can better understand our various initiatives. I am also a staff writer who produces, edits and approves articles related to our agency’s contract and acquisition mission.”

Nicest thing the boss ever said about or to you: “My boss has told me I am a hard worker and a great asset to the team.”

One of your biggest accomplishments: “Getting a master’s degree in administration.”

The aspect of your job that’s most challenging: “I believe one of the most challenging aspects to this job is telling people in a diplomatic way ‘no’ and making sure all of the required work is done by deadline since we have a small staff.”

What you love most about your job: “I love meeting new people, interacting with my colleagues and writing.”

One life-changing moment: “One of my bigger life-changing moments was leaving a daily newspaper to become a federal employee.”

Favorite pastime: “Spending quality time with my family and friends.”

Describe your personality: “I’m a friendly extrovert who can talk to almost anyone.”

Who do you admire most? “My maternal grandmother, who was one of the matriarchs of my hometown church. She was classy, and I loved seeing her in her fancy dresses and hats as she sat on the front pew of the church. She died in 2013 at the age of 93.”

Biggest pet peeve: “I strongly dislike people who lie.”

The talent you’d most like to have: “I would truly like to be able to say the right thing at the right time.”

The celebrity or historical figure you’d most like to meet and why: “I would love to meet Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama because they both encourage people to be their best. They both have endured their own struggles and persevered. They also believe in mentoring others.”

Favorite quote or saying: “Jeremiah 29:11, ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you hope and a future.’”

What would surprise people to know about you? “I used to take guitar and ukulele lessons, but my schedule is so packed now, I don’t have time to practice or play either instrument.”

If you could do anything, anywhere right now, what would that be? “I’d want to be on an island journaling, catching up on reading and getting some rest.”

If you won the lottery …: “I would be a happy woman!”

Your future plans: “I literally have no idea. I am in the process of trying to figure it out right now.”
