The public is invited to enjoy French film showings and discussion in French and English in a movie series co-hosted by the Alliance Française-Chapitre de Grasse and The Boot restaurant. The film showings will take place 2 - 4 p.m. on Sundays, starting on April 22, at The Boot, 123 W. 21st St., Norfolk. Admission is free, attendees may select and pay for food and beverages. All films will have English subtitles.

The following films are scheduled:

April 22, 2–4 p.m.: Les 400 coups (The 400 blows), directed by François Truffaut (1959).

April 29, 2 – 4 p.m.: L’insoumis (The Unvanquished), directed by Alain Cavalier (1964).

May 6, 2–4 p.m.: Le Samourai (The Samurai), directed by Jean-Pierre Melville (1967).

May 13, 2-4 p.m.: Le Voyou (The Crook), directed by Claude Lelouch (1970).

The non-profit Alliance Française-Chapitre de Grasse was started in 1969 to put people in touch with other Francophones and Francophiles as well as to

celebrate language and culture in southeastern

Virginia.
