Paul Blart: Mall Cop
Kevin James stars as the title character, a single, suburban dad, trying to make ends meet as a security officer at a New Jersey mall. It’s a job he takes very seriously, though no one else does. When Santa’s helpers at the mall stage a coup, shutting down the megaplex and taking hostages (Paul’s daughter and sweetheart among them), Jersey’s most formidable mall cop will have to become a real cop to save the day.
Notorious is a biographical film about the life of hip hop star The Notorious B.I.G./Biggie Smalls, who is played by newcoming rapper Jamal Woolard. It will also feature Angela Bassett as his mother Voletta Wallace, Derek Luke as Biggie’s manager Sean “Puffy” Combs, and Anthony Mackie as rap rival Tupac Shakur. Other roles include Naturi Naughton as Lil’ Kim and Antonique Smith as wife Faith Evans.
The film stars Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Annabel Grealish, Candice Bergen, Chris Pratt and Kristen Johnston. Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Liv (Kate Hudson) are best friends, and since they were young, they have always wanted to be married in The Plaza Hotel. Planning to marry their respective husbands to-be, everything seems to in going perfectly—the dates are set, their dresses are beautiful, and the maids of honor, each other, are as joyful as can be. However, when the pair of friends receive the bad news that their weddings were planned for the same day, the pre-wedding bliss is ruined. With neither willing to give up her dream wedding, Liv and Emma declare themselves to be engaged in the most heated and dangerous kind of war known to man — Bride Wars.
Gran Torino is a 2008 American drama film directed by and starring Clint Eastwood. Eastwood stars as a Korean War veteran who catches a Hmong teenage boy trying to steal his 1972 Gran Torino. The film features a predominantly Hmong cast, Eastwood’s younger son, Scott Eastwood. Eastwood’s older son, Kyle Eastwood provided the score.
Writer/director David Goyer (‘Blade: Trinity,’ ‘The Invisible,’ ‘Batman Begins’) gives a terrifying glimpse into the life of the undead in ‘The Unborn,’ a supernatural thriller that follows a young woman pulled into a world of nightmares when a demonic spirit haunts her and threatens everyone she loves.
Casey Beldon (Odette Yustman) hated her mother for leaving her as a child. But when inexplicable things start to happen, Casey begins to understand why she left. Plagued by merciless dreams and a tortured ghost that haunts her waking hours, she must turn to the only spiritual advisor, Sendak (Gary Oldman), who can make it stop.
With Sendak’s help, Casey uncovers the source of a family curse dating back to Nazi Germany — a creature with the ability to inhabit anyone or anything that is getting stronger with each possession. With the curse unleashed, her only chance at survival is to shut a doorway from beyond our world that has been pried open by someone who was never born.
When Mo (Brendan Fraser) reads aloud from books, he has the ability to make the characters come out of the book, into real life. Mo discovered his power when his daughter Meggie (Eliza Bennett), was just a baby. Mo read aloud from the book Inkheart, which caused several of the book’s wicked characters, including Capricorn (Andy Serkis), to literally come to life. But while he read them out of the book, he accidentally read Meggie’s mother, Teresa (Sienna Guillory) into the story.
Meggie is 12 years old, but knows nothing of her father’s bizarre and powerful talent. But Meggie is annoyed that Mo still refuses to read to her. Capricorn, a man who burns for pleasure and being so evil that he would “feed a bird to a cat on purpose, just to watch it being torn apart”, has searched for Meggie’s father for years, seeking to twist Mo’s powerful talent to his own dark means. Finally, Capricorn realizes that the best way to lure Mo to his remote mountain hideaway is to use his beloved daughter Meggie as bait. While Meggie discovers Capricorn’s ruthless plan, she too, can pluck people from pages and bring them to life, but it takes a while for her to realize her power.
Underworld 3: The Rise of the Lycans
This prequel will trace the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their onetime slaves, the Lycans (werewolves). In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian (Michael Sheen) emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Bill Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Viktor’s daughter Sonja (Rhona Mitra), in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.
