The Lady Travellers extended their unbeaten streak in the WAMAC with a 67-48 win over Walter Reed Army Medical Center at MacLaughlin Fitness Center , March 11.
Coming off the Friday night loss against All Navy, the Lady Travellers were hungry for a win, and employed an aggressive man-to-man defense to earn it.
The Lady Travellers scored early and often on a 12-point run in the first half, with Crista Henderson earning six of 16 points to put the game up 13-1 midway through the first half. Fort Lee would coast into the second half with a 33-21 lead over Walter Reed.
In the remaining 20 minutes of play, Fort Lee would stay on top, maintaining at least a six-point favor throughout.
Walter Reed’s Kristi Harris earned 11 and Audry Webb shot a team high 17.
For the Lady Travellers, Regina King, Joy Roberson and Paula Tucker all contributed six apiece in the win, while Niki Lee went beyond the arc for her three points.
