Lt. Col. David P. Key, commander of the 11th Transportation Battalion, gives remarks at the 111th Quartermaster Company, Detachment 2, redeployment ceremony Nov. 12 at the Ordance Resiliency and Training Center on Fort Lee's Ordnance Campus. We’re grateful for your service to our nation and to the cause of freedom." Key also summed up their mission. "This detachment was deployed for six months, during which their primary mission was to provide mortuary affairs operations to multiple locations across the CENTCOM AOR – from Iraq to Kuwait, Jordan and Afghanistan. The teams were responsible for the search, recovery and evacuation of fallen U.S. Soldiers, civilians and other allies … a very daunting and noble task indeed." Other senior leaders who attended the ceremony included Maj. Gen. Darrell K. Williams, CASCOM and Fort Lee commanding general; Brig. Gen. Rodney D. Fogg, Quartermaster General; and Col. Adam W. Butler, Fort Lee garrison commander.
