Sgt. 1st Class Bryon Jackson from F Company, 16th Ordnance Battalion, is CASCOM’s first Diversity and Inclusion Award recipient. The new accolade recognizes the efforts of individuals within the command who excel at improving diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Jackson, a collateral duty sexual assault response coordinator, distinguished himself through the development and execution of a strategic, yearlong campaign involving students and leaders to prevent assaults while raising awareness. Highlights of his work include training for victim advocates as well supporting various events to promote the relevant messages of CASCOM's Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention program. “It’s quite an honor to receive this award,” Jackson said. “My chain of command gave me a vision and made it easy to work with them and others to develop an effective program.” He further stated his efforts will not wane. He plans to produce a SHARP public service message early next year. The new CASCOM award will be presented quarterly.
