In support of the Army Family Covenant, the Fort Lee Child and Youth Services will implement several initiatives starting Feb. 1. Families of deployed Soldiers are eligible for the following:

• 16 hours per month/child of deployment respite care starting 30 days prior to deployment and ending 60 days after return

– $2 per child/hour for any hourly care beyond the free respite care hours

– 20 percent reduction in fees for regularly scheduled full or part day care for employed custodial parents (spouses) guardians of child of deployed Soldiers/DoD Civilians

- Two months of two free SKIES classes per child

- Two free team sports per child/youth

• TCS, PCS (Unaccompanied Tour), TDY 90-179 days are eligible for the following:

- 16 hours of free respite care per child/month during designated eligible period

- $2 per child/hour of for any hourly care beyond the free respite care hours

- Two months of Two free SKIES classes per child/youth

- one free team sport per child/youth

• Rear Detachment Cadre (identified on Rear Detachment/Personnel availability report) are eligible for:

- 5 hours of free respite care per child/month during designated support period

- $2 per child/hour of for any hourly care beyond the free respite care hours

- Two months of two free SKIES classes per child/youth

- One free team sport per child/youth

• Warrior Transition, (AW2, WT) are eligible for:

- 16 hours of free respite care per child/month during designated eligible period

- $2 per child/hour of for any hourly care beyond the free respite care hours

- Two months of two free SKIES classes per child/youth

- Two free team sports per child/youth

- Category 1 fees for regularly scheduled full day/part day care

• Fallen Warriors – Families of fallen warriors are eligible for:

- 16 hours of free respite care per child/month during designated eligible period

- $2 per child/hour of for any hourly care beyond the free respite care hours

- Two months of two free SKIES classes per child/youth

- Two free team sports per child/youth

- Category 1 fees for regularly scheduled full day/part day care

- 40 additional hours free hourly care per child for immediate family of deceased

• Respite care will be in a minimum of two hour time blocks. Special respite care settings or special center openings for respite care will be a minimum of four hour time blocks. Unused hours will expire at the end of the month. Respite care hours cannot be used to adjust full/part day fees.
