Williams Stadium Closing for Track Replacement

From March 1-28, Williams Stadium will be closed for all activities including physical training/ACFT to allow for work on the first phase of a track replacement project. Nowak Stadium is available as an alternate site for PT/ACFT and other functions.

During this work by a contractor, the bed of the track will be torn up, replaced and readied for re-surfacing. The stadium is scheduled to be open March 29 - May 6 for community use, excluding April 12 and May 7-10 when the facility has been reserved for special events. A second closure is tentatively planned for May 11-31 at which time the contractor will finalize track resurfacing including a top coat and curing time. The final project completion date will be announced in May.

TenStrike Offers Bowling Party Packages

The TenStrike Bowling and Entertainment Center has party rooms and special event packages for birthdays, retirements and other celebratory occasions.

The Family and MWR facility located in building 8016, 2403 C Ave, offers two large multipurpose rooms, an arcade and two bowling lane areas, one specially equipped with bumpers for kids. The Action City Grill offers hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, wings and more. The facility is open 11 a.m. - 9 p.m., Monday-Wednesday; 11 a.m. - 10 p.m., Thursday-Saturday; and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday.

AUSA Tournament Registration Opens March 1

The Robert E. Lee, Southern Virginia and Central Virginia chapters of the Association of United States Army will host their annual golf tournament April 17, 9 a.m., at the Cardinal Golf Club. Registration opens March 1 and closes April 3.

The tourney is open to everyone in the Fort Lee community, especially AUSA members and those interested in knowing more about the organization. The entry fee is $65 per player and $50 for members of the golf club. The cost includes green fees, range balls, lunch, prizes and more.

MacLaughlin Fitness Center Closed for JCTE

MacLaughlin Fitness Center is closed through March 13 to accommodate the annual Joint Culinary Training Exercise.

During this closure, Clark Fitness Center will extend its hours of operation. The facility will be open 4:30 a.m. - 9 p.m., Monday - Friday, and 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The

Strength Performance Center hours will remain 5 a.m. - 9 p.m., Monday – Friday, and 8 a.m. - 4

p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The ALU Recreation Facility will adjust its hours to 5 a.m. - 2 p.m.,

Monday - Friday. Ordnance Recreation Facility hours will remain 5 a.m. - 8 p.m., Monday -

Friday; and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

‘Share Your Story’ Contest Deadline March 2

In recognition of African-American Black History Month, the Defense Commissary Agency and Army and Air Force Exchange Service has created a contest in honor of Gen. Benjamin O. Davis Jr., the first Air Force three-star general who commanded the Tuskegee Airmen.

Authorized patrons can enter through social media. The deadline is March 2. One $5,000 scholarship and three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded for a military service story that is submitted via Twitter or Instagram.
