Kenner Adjusts Holiday Weekend Hours
Kenner Army Health Clinic and Mosier Consolidated Troop Medical Clinic 2 will be open with normal business hours Feb. 14, a military training holiday ahead of President’s Day weekend. Troop Medical Clinic 1 will be closed that day. Trainees needing medical care will be seen at TMC 2.
All clinics and ancillary services will be closed in observance of President’s Day on Feb. 17. Normal operating hours and services will resume Feb. 18. For assistance with medical issues during closures or after-hours, call the nurse advice line at 1-800-TRICARE and chose option 1. Active duty family members and retirees no longer require pre-authorization to visit an urgent care center. Active duty service members must request an authorization through the nurse advice line.

Clinic Commander’s Call Set for Feb. 20
To allow staff attendance at a commander’s call and training set for Feb. 20, all Kenner Army Health Clinic operations, including those at Mosier Consolidated Troop Medical Clinic and TMC 1, will close at noon that day. The pharmacy will remain open with limited staff. Normal operations will resume Feb. 21.

ProCamp Kickoff Festival Set for Feb 19
The Fort Lee Commissary, Army and Air Force Exchange Service and Procter & Gamble are teaming up to host the 2020 ProCamps Kickoff celebration Feb. 19, 1-3 p.m., in the commissary parking lot area. The event is free.
The kickoff festival will include Family and MWR activities, face painters, food and drinks, and more. A mystery guest professional football player will attend to sign autographs and take selfies with participating community members.
Representatives of the ProCamps program will share details about an upcoming competition that will determine the military bases where youth football camps will be conducted this summer.
Tax Preparation Services Available at Exchange
The Army and Air Force Exchange Service is partnering with H&R Block to provide tax preparation assistance at a 10 percent discount in the Main Store Mall.
The company also offers a free second-look tax review program in which H&R Block checks last year’s returns to determine whether filers are entitled to additional money that was not claimed. In the event of errors, H&R Block will pay the penalty and interest at no additional cost to the filer.

DeCA Scholarship Deadline Fast Approaching
The deadline to apply for monetary grants from the Scholarships for Military Children program, administered by the nonprofit Fisher House Foundation, is Feb. 24.
A total of 500 scholarship grants, each for $2,000, will be awarded for the 2020-21 school year. There will be at least one recipient selected at every commissary location where qualified applications are received. To apply, visit www.militaryscholar.org.

First TARP Briefings Scheduled for Feb. 26
The first Threat Awareness and Reporting Program briefings for this year are set for Feb. 26, 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., at the Lee Theater.
The training is a mandatory annual requirement for military members, DOD employees and contractors with a security clearance. Those assigned to the garrison can complete TARP training online this year. Personnel attending the briefings are reminded to bring their CAC for verification of attendance and to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time to complete the sign-in process. Additional quarterly briefings are scheduled for May 5, July 7 and Nov. 3.

Registration Opens for Women’s Leadership Symposium
Registration is underway for the 33nd annual Joint Women’s Leadership Symposium, set for June 18-19 at the Marriott Norfolk Waterside.
The theme is “20/20: Leading with a Clear Vision.” Hosted by the Sea Service Association, the event will offer professional development and leadership seminars with a goal of preparing women to excel in the military now and in the future.
