Add Virus Protection to Emergency Kits
With the arrival of hurricane season, safety agencies in the commonwealth are reminding Virginians to include COVID-19 protection when restocking emergency preparedness kits.
People are advised to add masks, gloves and hand sanitizer to the kits and not to wait until a storm is imminent before taking action since items sell out quickly. As always, the emergency kit also should include water, non-perishable food, a flashlight and extra batteries, a first aid kit, cleaning supplies and more. Residents also should be mindful of weather conditions during summer road trips to ensure they’re not caught off guard.
