Housing Town Hall Set for Nov. 14
A quarterly Housing Town Hall is set for Nov. 14, 4:30 p.m., in Memorial Chapel.
Military families residing on the installation are encouraged to participate in-person or online, as the session will be live-streamed via the installation’s Facebook page – www.facebook.com/ArmyFortLee. A large portion of the meeting will focus on audience comments and questions, which can be raised during the session or submitted in advance through direct message to the Facebook page (avoid posting phone numbers, addresses or other personally identifying information). Free on-site child care is available.
Col. Hollie Martin, garrison commander, is the primary briefer, and Maj. Gen. Rodney Fogg, CASCOM and Fort Lee commanding general, is tentatively scheduled to speak. Representatives of Hunt Communities, Fort Lee’s housing partner, will be in attendance.
Students can earn “You Made the Grade” Rewards
The Army and Air Force Exchange Service rewards students in grades 1-12 who maintain a “B” or better average.
As part of the “You Made the Grade” program, youngsters can receive a $5 Exchange gift card every grading period during the 2019-2020 school year. To receive the prize, present a valid military ID and proof of an overall “B” average or above at the customer service area in the main store.
Qualifying students including homeschoolers also can register for a worldwide drawing to win a $2,000, $1,500 or $500 Exchange gift card. Clinic Announces Holiday Weekend Schedule
Kenner Army Health Clinic and Mosier Consolidated Troop Medical Clinic will be open Nov. 29 (training holiday) for patient care. Troop Medical Clinic 1 will be closed that day. All clinic facilities and services will be closed Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving.
To schedule appointments, call the Kenner appointment line at 1-866-533-5242. To request an authorization to visit an urgent care center after hours or when the clinic is closed, call the nurse advice line at 1-800-TRICARE and choose option 1. For an emergency, dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
NARFE Meeting set for Nov. 20
Petersburg Chapter 28 for National Active and Retired Federal Employees will hold its next meeting Nov. 20, 10:30 a.m., at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 1769 S. Sycamore Street, Petersburg. Connie Bailes, Virginia NARFE president, will present Certificates of Appreciation and Achievement to Jack McMurchy, chapter president. Retirees and active employees from all federal agencies are invited to attend, as well as spouses, annuitants and guests.
