TACOM Invites Career-Seekers to Job Fair

Career-seeking community members are invited to the TACOM job fair set for Nov. 7-8, 9 a.m. - noon, in Room 203, building 6298, Rear Access Road.

Qualified supply technicians with GCSS-A experience in maintenance tasks, heavy mobile equipment and weapons repairers, and other motor pool-related workers are needed. Job fair participants can obtain position information and apply on site. All attendees should bring a current resume and the following documents, if applicable: DD214, VA letter indicating disability percentage and class A CDL (5803 series).

Kenner Sets Holiday Weekend Schedule

Kenner Army Health Clinic and Mosier Consolidated Troop Medical Clinic 1 will be open Nov. 8 (training holiday) for patient care. Troop Medical Clinic 2 will be closed that day. All clinic facilities and services will be closed Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.

To schedule appointments, call 1-866-533-5242. To request authorization to visit an urgent care center after-hours or when the clinic is closed, call the nurse advice line at 1-800-TRICARE and choose option 1.

Housing Town Hall Set for Nov. 14

A quarterly Housing Town Hall is set for Nov. 14, 4:30 p.m., in Memorial Chapel.

All military families residing on the installation are encouraged to participate in-person or online, as the session will be live-streamed via the installation’s Facebook page – www.facebook.com/ArmyFortLee. A large portion of the meeting will be focused on audience comments and questions, which can be raised during the session or submitted in advance through direct message to the Facebook page (avoid posting phone numbers, addresses or other personally identifying information).

  Free on-site child care is available. Col. Hollie Martin, garrison commander, will be the primary briefer, and Maj. Gen. Rodney Fogg, CASCOM and Fort Lee commanding general, is tentatively scheduled to speak. Representatives of Hunt Communities, Fort Lee’s housing partner, will be in attendance.

Electronics Added to Free Layaway Program

The Army and Air Force Exchange Service has expanded its free layaway program to include computers, tablets, iPads and notebooks. A 15 percent deposit is required to place these electronics items on layaway and must be picked up and paid for by Dec. 14.

Hunt Seeks Submissions for Commemorative Book

Hunt Military Communities is requesting stories and photographs to be included in a commemorative coffee table book that will honor veterans.

Proceeds from the book will benefit Hunt Heroes Foundation. With every submission, a flag will be given to honor the veteran and acknowledge their story (while supplies last). Submissions to include mailing address and years served can be emailed to proudveterans@huntcompanies.com.

AAFES Launches Holiday Bill on Us Sweepstakes

Five grand-prize winners of the Army and Air Force Exchange Service’s Holiday Bill on Us Sweepstakes will have their MILITARY STAR card balance paid in full. The entry period is underway through Dec. 31. 

Ten second-prize winners will be awarded a $1,000 credit on their MILITARY STAR card statement, while 25 third-place winners will receive a $500 credit. Authorized shoppers will be automatically entered in the contest each time they use their card to pay for purchases at any Exchange location or on shopmyexchange.com.

Winners will be announced on or about Jan. 30.
