Pvt. Justin L. Saylor, Co.W, 244th Quartermaster Battalion, 23rd QM Brigade, was tried and convicted at a general court-martial for numerous violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The court martial was conducted March 15 at Fort Lee.
Saylor pleaded guilty and was found guilty of violating Article 126, UCMJ (Arson), Article 108, UCMJ (Wrongful Destruction of Government property), Article 91, UCMJ, (Disrespect to a Noncommissioned officer), Article 86, UCMJ (Absence without Leave), Article 112a, UCMJ (Wrongful use of cocaine) and Article 107, UCMJ, False Official Statement.
The arson and destruction of government property charges stem from the fire Saylor set inside the Patriot Chapel, Sept. 27, 2006.
The military judge sentenced Saylor to five years confinement, loss of all pay and allowances, and a dishonorable discharge.
Saylor will serve his confinement at the Regional Confinement Facility at Fort Knox, Ky.
