The Fort Lee Tax Assistance Center once again is operational and ready to meet the needs of military members, retirees and their Family members.
The new location for the center is building 12011, 3312 A Avenue (next to the Soldier One Stop building).
The center is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Scheduled appointments can be made Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - noon (all authorized tax forms). Walk-ins (1040EZ Forms only) are allowed Monday - Friday, noon - 6 p.m.
Extended hours are available for walk-ins (1040EZ Forms only) and appointments Tuesday and Thursday, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Additionally, walk-ins (all authorized tax forms) can receive assistance on Saturdays, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The Tax Assistance Center is available to any person who otherwise qualifies for legal assistance services at the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, to include Soldiers, dependents, retirees and deploying contract and Department of the Army Civilians.
Before visiting the Tax Assistance Center, be sure to have all W-2s, 1099 and 1098 forms, powers of attorney (if applicable) and documents and information relating to itemized deductions, such as college tuition, child care, individual retirement account contributions, student loan interest, alimony payments, stock and mutual funds sales and economic stimulus payments.
Other essential information required includes identification cards, Social Security cards, dates of birth for Family members, last year’s tax return and banking information such as a cancelled check for direct deposit.
