AWM Changes Hours, Services

The new Army Women’s Museum hours of operation for the public are Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The facility will not be open on Saturdays. Additionally, the museum’s archives and research room will be closed. Research requests will be handled as the staff is able. Training and post operations support will be available from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Lee Plans Cake Cutting for Army Birthday

An Army Birthday Cake-Cutting Ceremony will be held June 14, 11:30 a.m., at the Lee Theater, Mahone Avenue. All members of Team Lee are welcome to attend the CASCOM-hosted event.

The celebration of the service’s 244th birthday will include a historic Army uniform presentation and music from a 392nd Army Band ensemble

Theater Group to Hold ‘Children of Eden Jr.’ Auditions

The Theatre Company at Fort Lee will hold auditions for “Children of Eden Jr.” June 8 and 15, 10 a.m., in the Lee Theater, Mahone Avenue.

Director Eden DiMarco seeks actors, ages 6-18, for a variety of roles in this youth production. Individuals only need to attend one audition. Those trying out need to bring sheet music and be dressed for dance movement. No a Capella or backup vocals if CD is used. No performers are paid. The production dates are weekends, July 26 - Aug. 4.

Good Academics Can Garner Prizes

Students in grades 1-12 who maintain a “B” or better average are eligible for a $5 Exchange Gift Card through the Army and Air Force Exchange Service.

Youngsters can receive this reward every grading period by presenting a valid military ID and proof of an overall “B” average at the customer service area in the main store. Qualifying students, including homeschoolers, also can register for a drawing to win a $2,000, $1,500 or $500 Exchange gift card.
