Kenner Pauses Services for Organization Day

Kenner Army Health Clinic, Troop Medical Clinic 1, Mosier Troop Medical Clinic and all ancillary services including the pharmacy will curtail operations June 21, noon, for organization day activities. All services will resume normal hours of operation June 24.

Chesterfield Hosts Job Fair

Chesterfield County Public Schools will host a job fair for individuals seeking employment as teachers, instructional assistants, clerical support, food services and bus drivers June 24, 8 a.m. - noon, at the Fulghum Conference, Career and Technical Center, 13900 Hull Street Road.

Applicants should bring resumes and teaching licenses (if applicable).

On-Post Child Care Requires Certification

Fort Lee Child and Youth Services reminds individuals they must be certified as a Family Care Provider if they look after children other than their own in their government-owned or leased home on-post on a regular basis in excess of 10 hours per week.

CYS offers free training to qualified individuals leading to certification to become a FCP.  Certification is not required for parents, guardians or relatives of the child.

Fourth at the Fort

The annual Independence Day celebration at Fort Lee begins at 5 p.m. in Williams Stadium. Admission is free and open to the public.

The event will feature entertainment by the classic Richmond R&B band En’Novation and Fort Lee’s 392nd Army Band rock ensemble and concert orchestra. Other activities include a KidZone play area, food court and a fireworks display. Personal pyrotechnics, tailgating, coolers, smoking or pets are not permitted in or around the event area. Visitors are reminded that all individuals 18 years of age or older will need to present a valid state- or government-issued identification card, with photo, to access the installation. This includes adults riding in the same vehicle.

If inclement weather poses a risk to visitors, the 392nd Army Band performance and fireworks will be rescheduled to July 5. Event notices will be posted on the FortLeeFMWR Facebook page.
