Jewish Holiday Services

Passover is observed through sunset April 6. The first two days (March 30-31) and last two days (April 5-6) are days of holy obligation for Jews. Major observances include attendance at the Seder (ritual meal) and Yizkor Memorial Service.

The auxiliary Jewish chaplain, retired Chaplain (Lt. Col) Dennis Beck-Berman, will conduct holiday services open to all military and civilian personnel at the local synagogue, Congregation Brith Achim, 314 South Boulevard, Petersburg. Directions are available at www.BrithAchimVA.org.

A Yizkor Memorial Service is set for April 6, 10 a.m. Advanced Individual Training Soldiers needing transportation to the Seder must inform their Chaplain through their chain of command.

For details, call Beck-Berman at (804) 732-3968 or BrithAchim@aol.com.
