The National Night Out will be held at Hero Park, adjacent to Memorial Chapel Aug. 7, 6 - 8 p.m.

The Fort Lee Provost Marshal Office will be hosting a cook out at the event with prize drawings, games, McGruff, Sparky, a fire truck display and music played by the 392nd Army Band.

All installation housing areas are welcome to attend and start the partnership process that will make Team Lee and its’ occupants the safest in the nation.

National Night Out is an annual event hosted by law enforcement agencies across the nation that builds communities, generates support for anti-crime programs and strengthens police/community relations through hundreds of block parties and other events held on the first Tuesday of August.

National Night Out is not just for one night of the year, but the culmination of yearlong crime prevention activities in all Fort Lee neighborhoods: people working together to prevent and address neighborhood problems.

It is an occasion to discuss current challenges or issues, and rededicate to collaborative efforts with neighbors, police and others to improve the quality of life on the installation.
