COVID Hotline Changing to Information Only

The Kenner Army Health Clinic COVID Hotline will default to an information-only recording on Feb. 1.

To request a COVID-19 test at Kenner, beneficiaries should reach out to their primary care clinic via the Tricare Online Secure Messaging Service at, or make an appointment through or the appointment line at 1-866-533-5242, option 1.

Tax Center Begins Operations Feb. 1

The Fort Lee Tax Assistance Center begins operations Feb. 1. Walk-in services are not available this year due to the continued threat of COVID-19. Customers have a virtual filing option through an online portal, a drive-up and drop-off service or they can schedule a regular in-person appointment.

The TAC is located in building 5209, 910 20th Street, just off Shop Road and adjacent to the Army Women’s Museum. Its hours of operations are expected to be from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The service is available to all military ID cardholders. Kenner Sets Schedule for Presidents Day Weekend

Kenner Army Health Clinic, Mosier Consolidated Troop Medical Clinic 2 and TMC1 will be open with normal business hours Feb. 12 ahead of Presidents Day weekend.

All clinics and ancillary services will be closed on Feb. 15, the actual federal holiday. Normal operating hours and services will resume Feb. 16. For assistance with medical issues during closures or after-hours, call the nurse advice line at 1-800-TRICARE and chose option 1.

Enrollment Period Continues for Pre-Retirement Seminar

Registration continues for a virtual Pre-Retirement Seminar for military members who are within 12-24 months of separation from service. It is scheduled for Feb. 26, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The free seminar will cover a variety of post-military-career topics. Spouses and other family members of separating military members are welcome. Early pre-retirement planning is essential to a smooth transition out of the service and understanding the full range of veteran benefits and entitlements.

Students Invited to Apply for Roper Memorial Scholarships

The Southside Virginia Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will award $2,000 Roper Memorial Scholarships to high school or home-school seniors in the greater Fort Lee area.

To be eligible, students must have a parent or grandparent who is on active duty, retired or a member of the Southside Chapter of MOAA. One scholarship is available for a Junior ROTC cadet who must be sponsored by an ROTC faculty member or school principal. MOAA also has $500, $750 or $1,000 Tuition Assistance Grants for the spring and summer 2021. To be eligible for grants, students must meet the same requirements. The scholarships and grants must be used to cover fees at a post-secondary school or institution. Applications must be mailed and postmarked by April 3.

Exchange Launches ‘Be Fit Live’ Programming

Military members and their families can take part in weekly online BE FIT workout sessions every Monday at 11 a.m. (CST).

Registration Open for Field Sanitation Course

The Environmental Health staff at Kenner Army Health Clinic is offering five eight-hour Field Sanitation Team training sessions from Feb. 22-26, in building 6050. The application deadline is Feb. 3.

The FST certification course incorporates hands-on training while covering subjects such as water trailer inspections, water quality testing, field food service sanitation inspection criteria and more. As a reminder, all military training organizations are required to have a primary and alternate field sanitation representative who has completed classroom instruction.
