Main Clinic Lab Area to Reopen July 15

Kenner Army Health Clinic’s renovated laboratory and radiology departments are scheduled to reopen inside the main building on July 15, 1 p.m.

The move from the temporary location in building 8202 will take place July 11-15. Laboratory services will be offered to patients in the KAHC Family Medicine Clinic during this time.  Daily laboratory hours will remain the same. During the return move, beneficiaries are encouraged to verify where they should report to avoid confusion. Both departments will continue their operating hours of 6 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Back-to-School Layaway Available

To help parents with tight back-to-school shopping budgets, the Army and Air Force Exchange Service has opened its layaway program to computers, tablets, iPads and more through Aug. 31. Authorize shoppers are reminded that a $3 service fee and 15 percent deposit are required to place electronics items on layaway.

On-Post Child Care Requires Certification

Fort Lee Child and Youth Services reminds individuals they must be certified as a Family Care Provider if they look after children other than their own in their government-owned or leased home on-post on a regular basis in excess of 10 hours per week.

CYS offers free training to qualified individuals leading to certification to become a FCP.  Certification is not required for parents, guardians or relatives of the child.

Registration Underway for Mighty Pen Project

Registration is open for the fall semester of “The Mighty Pen Project,” a free Virginia War Memorial seminar for veterans and active duty personnel who wish to learn how to chronicle their military experiences.

The three-month program will meet one night a week beginning Sept. 18, 6:30-9 p.m., at the VWM in Richmond. Veterans and their supporters will attend collegiate-level creative writing classes with a goal of providing support they need to effectively tell the stories of their choosing.

Wellness Day at Lee VTF

The Fort Lee Veterinary Treatment Facility will host a walk-in Wellness Day July 20, 8 a.m. - noon, building 11025, 38th Street.

Services will include wellness exams, vaccines, microchips, heartworm tests, and fecal tests. Those not registered in the system will need to bring vaccination records and other pertinent medical information.

CIF to Conduct Annual Inventory

The Central Issue Facility and Supply Support Activity will be closed to conduct a 100-percent inventory Aug. 19-23.

Customers are asked to complete all immediate-need transactions prior to the closure. Normal operations will resume Aug. 26.
