Clinic Announces Change of Command Ceremony

 ­­­­­Lt. Col. Nichelle A. Johnson will assume command of Kenner Army Health Clinic during a May 17 ceremony starting at 9 a.m. on the front lawn of the health facility, 700 24th St.  

She is replacing Lt. Col. Paul J. Kassebaum who has held the command position since May 2017. The ceremony is open to everyone in the community. Team Lee members should note 24th Street will be closed May 17, 6 a.m. - noon, for the ceremony. Drivers should use B Avenue to access the parking lot near the “All Clinics” entrance.

Residents Invited to Life at Lee Celebration

All families living on post and the organizations dedicated to their support are invited to the 11th annual “Life at Lee” celebration May 18, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., on the back lawn of the Sisisky Welcome Center, 1510 Sisisky Blvd.

The event will include a catered lunch, music, prizes, splash park, petting zoo, bounce house, giveaways, information booths and more. Admission is free for residents and their families. Parking will be limited, so those living nearby are encouraged to walk to the event. Residents are encouraged to RSVP for the lunch in advance to decrease the amount of time spent in line during the event.

Lee to Conduct Second Housing Town Hall

Fort Lee Family Housing residents are invited to attend a town hall hosted by Maj. Gen. Rodney D. Fogg, CASCOM and Fort Lee commanding general, May 22, 4:30-7:30 p.m., at Memorial Chapel, Sisisky Boulevard. This is an opportunity to make the command aware of housing maintenance issues and receive updates on the RCI oversight measures that are being implemented here.

Traveller Accepting Submissions for Graduation Tribute

The submission deadline for the 2019 Fort Lee Traveller high school graduation tribute is May 31.

Parents who want their graduate included must submit a head-and-shoulders photo of the individual(s) with the first and last name of each student and each parent; the parent’s rank (if applicable); the parent’s status and place of duty; the student’s age and high school; and a telephone number to be used (but not published) if additional information is needed. The photo submitted should be copyright-free (if taken by a studio or commercial vendor), 5-by-7 inches, 200-dpi or greater, and in JPEG format.

Kenner Sets Memorial Weekend Schedule

Kenner Army Health Clinic and Troop Medical Clinic 2 will be open with normal business hours on May 24 (training holiday) for patient care. Troop Medical Clinic 1 will be closed May 24. All Kenner clinics and services will be closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday on May 27.

The International Military Student Office at the Army Logistics University is always looking for community members on- and off-post to serve as social sponsors for international students who attend classes at Fort Lee.
