Kenner Adjusts Schedule for Holiday Weekend

Kenner Army Health Clinic and Troop Medical Clinic 2 will be open with normal business hours on May 24 (training holiday) for patient care. Troop Medical Clinic 1 will be closed that day. All Kenner clinics and services will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on May 27.

QM Museum Plans D-Day Commemoration

The Quartermaster Museum has activities planned for June 6 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. All community members are welcome to participate in the observance.

The commemoration will include a brown bag lecture at noon. A historian will talk about two important vehicles that were designed by the QM Corps for World War II. In addition, the museum will be displaying many items related to that period of history – uniforms, gear, equipment, etc. – in a series of special one-day displays.

The 16th annual Quartermaster Instructor Reunion is scheduled for June 1, 10:30 a.m., at Crystal Lake Park, Hopewell.

Red Cross Reports Shortage of Type O Blood

The American Red Cross reports a critical shortage of type O blood and urges eligible donors to give now to help patients facing trauma and other life-threatening situations.

Upcoming blood donation opportunities in the Fort Lee area include: May 28, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Eanes-Pittman Public Safety Training Center, 6610 Public Safety Way, Chesterfield County; May, 30, 3-7 p.m., Bruster's, 11731 Sherbert Lane, Chester; and May 31, 1:30 - 6:30 p.m., Prince George School Food Service Association, 6401 Courts Drive, Prince George County.
