The Army Mass Transportation Benefit Program allows active duty military members or Civilian Department of Defense employees to receive up to $230 per month for transportation costs when using a qualified mode of transportation. The qualified modes of transportation include bus, train and vanpools.

Vanpooling is a ride-sharing arrangement where 4-15 people share the costs of commuting in a passenger van. Presently, it is the only viable mode of mass transportation for most Fort Lee personnel.

Bruce Danet has recently been established as the point of contact for the program.
