"Spiderman 3" Opens May 4
Tobey Mcguire returns to play the webslinger in "Spiderman 3."

In the third installment of the Spiderman franchise, Peter Parker (Tobey Mcguire) manages to strike a balance between his devotion to M.J. (Kirsten Dunst) and his duties as a superhero. When his suit suddenly changes by an alien symbiote, turning jet-black and enhancing his powers, it transforms Peter as well, bringing out the dark, vengeful side of his personality that he is struggling to control. Forced to choose between the seductive power of the new suit and the compassionate hero he used to be, Peter must overcome his personal demons as he battles villains like the new Green Goblin (James Franco), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) and Eddie Brock/Venom (Topher Grace). Also returning is Aunt May (Rosemary Harris) and the cantankerous Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons)

Returning to the director’s chair is Sam Raimi, best known for the “Evil Dead” trilogy.

This PG 13-rated film is scheduled for release May 4.
