A celebration was in order Nov. 3 not only for World Wrestling Entertainment’s 800th episode of Monday Night Raw but also for Chris Jericho who captured the World Heavyweight Championship for the second time in his career.

Jericho captured the World Heavyweight Championship in a “Championship Scramble” match back in September at Unforgiven but lost the belt to Batista on Oct. 26 at Cyber Sunday. The Animal’s reign, the fourth of his career, lasted just over a week.

After an intense battle atop the steel cage, Jericho barely escaped Batista’s grasp and fell to the floor to win the main event contest. As announced earlier in the show, as champion, Jericho will now defend the title against a returning John Cena at the Nov. 23 Survivor Series pay-per-view. Cena has been out of action since Aug. 25 recovering from surgery for a herniated disk in his neck.

Sting battles Styles

A double main event take’s place at Total Nonstop Action’s Nov. 9 Turning Point pay-per-view as Heavyweight Champion Sting will defend against AJ Styles and Samoa Joe seeks revenge against Kevin Nash. Both Sting and Nash are key players in the new “Main Event Mafia” faction seeking to humble the younger generation and force respect from guys like Styles and Joe.

Other pay-per-view matches announced include: Legends Champion Booker T defending against Christian Cage; TNA World Tag Team Champions Beer Money, Inc defending against The Motor City Machineguns; Kurt Angle defending against Abyss; a “Grudge” match pitting X Division Champion Sheik Abdul Bashir defending against Rhino and an X Division championship seeding match to determine top contenders for the title.
